Hyundai Heavy Industries Won Orders For 2+2 LNG Carriers

Hyundai Heavy Industries, a unit of Korea Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Corporation (KSOE), won a new contract for 2+2 LNG carriers on Nov 2, 2020.

The contract is worth 425 billion won (about $375 million), Korea Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering said in a regulatory filing.The contract was signed with an unnamed European shipowner.

The two new ships are scheduled to be delivered in August 2023, the filing said.A single new ship can carry 174,000 square meters of frozen liquefied natural gas.
